While different blogging sites offer different options, my ultimate deciding factor was user interface and familiarity. I have used blogger in the past and I'm most comfortable with it and I know it's quirks and how to make my blog look awesome. I have a strong sense of loyalty to blogger, and it's benefit that it's linked with my Google account.
A huge issue that involves blogging is the issue that arises with future employers googling prospective employees and finding their blogs and what they talk about. This issue involves not only blogging, but social media in general. According to Like Hacker, future employer are googling potential candidates before giving them interviews. The best defense against giving them a negative impression is a successful, well done blog. If you have a blog and you write about very controversial topics and you don't do it gracefully, then if a future employer sees that, your chances of an interview go right out the window. Google and blogging to hand-in-hand and in the hands of future employers, then it can be a good or dangerous tool.
